Paid time off for "catching" H1N1

If you work for a company that does not offer paid sick days, you can get 5 paid sick days if you have the swine flu.


What kinda moral hazard is this going to create?


If this were in effect today...Most people have off this coming Thurs/Fri paid time off for the Thanksgiving holiday. You will have an epidemic of people calling in on the following Monday, cough-cough I got the swine flu, see you in a week and please direct deposit my check.


Hypothetically, you have off Thurs the 26th through Sunday Dec 5th!! 11 days off in a row. All paid time off and not using any of your paid vacation days.

Is this does not make any sense to me and where is the money going to come from to fund it?
