UN Advisor says Drug Money Saved Banks in Global Crisis

The Article states that:

"$352bn in criminal proceeds was effectively laundered by financial institutions"
The drug trade has always been one of the most profitable business' for banks and it is not because they are selling the drugs, but they launder the money.  They would much rather launder a drug lords money and grab a 10-20% share for the service than take your money and pay you interest.  Those who think this is not a huge factor in Af-Pak (Poppy is lucrative) are naive.
