What If We Paid for Food Like We Pay for Health Care

Food is even more important to life than health care, it turns out.  Without food health care would be moot.  So obviously it must be a right to be able to have the same food opportunities as your neighbor.  So our employers could simply insure our food purchases.  Or since it is a right to have food of quality and the duty of our government to provide for the welfare, we could have a single payer government provided plan, right?  Well if your insurance company, whether employer or government provided, took care of the prices for you, how much would you buy and of what?  The can of tuna fish or a fresh lobster?   The Spam or the Steak.  The 5 oz. or the 16 oz.  Would you save the leftovers to cut costs?

This is a great video on just this comparison, and more about health care.

  1. I agree. If I have the money saved to spend on a bikini car wash, then that is my choice. If all I can afford is a cheap $5 wash done by hand, then that will encourage me find a way to earn/save more money for the bikini car wash. I should not have to rely on a cash wash insurance plan as my only means to a bikini car wash.

A bikini car wash is a want, not a need. We do need to wash our cars and for those who can not afford the bikini car wash, cheaper solution exist.
